Randi told me that she wanted pretty trees for some of her engagement photos... She and I drove all around town a couple days before her session to scout out some locations. If you've ever been to Minnesota in the winter, it shouldn't a surprise that the majority of the trees we found were completely bare. Although, on our way back home, we stopped at this little gas station that had some Christmas trees set up in the parking lot, and I said "challenge accepted"! After asking the owner for permission and taking a few test shots, I could not wait to get back there with Randi and Joe! You would never believe that these photos were taken at a little Christmas tree "farm" in a gas station parking lot, right next to a busy highway!
After we finished up with the Christmas trees, we headed to another part of town right near the Wisconsin border, where we found a road that was covered by tall trees. Despite the fact that they were bare, they still made a beautiful location for photos. And to top it all off, we finished up our session alongside the Mississippi River!
I am so glad that I had the opportunity to travel to Winona for their engagement session, and I am even more excited to be going back this fall to capture their wedding in St. Charles, Minnesota!
Awesome behind the scenes footage of the session captured by Emily Skeels!
